Congratulations to our FFA members who qualified for National FFA Convention at the end of this month in Indianapolis, IN!

These members worked extremely hard starting back in June to qualify for this event! The final step to qualify was our Annual FFA Fruit/Meat sales and our FFA had a record breaking year, doubling last years amount!

We want to extend a HUGE thank you to our supportive community! These opportunities would not be possible without you!

Today is National School Parent Group Appreciation Day. THANK YOU to those who dedicate their time, energy, and talents to support our school. Everything from organizing events, volunteering countless hours, fundraising for important programs, and more... we appreciate you!

Golden City FFA Update: Fruit Sales will conclude this weekend! Students must turn their packets in on Monday morning! Parents/students, make sure you have all of your money collected and packets filled out properly!

The JHVB game from Tuesday, 9.23.25 is rescheduled for this Friday @ HOME against Avilla @ 5:30pm.

HSVB also has a game Friday AWAY vs. Miami (Amoret, MO) @ 5:30pm. Bus will leave at 3:15pm.

Last week was a busy week for Golden City FFA! Thursday Junior and Senior members attended the University of Missouri's Annual Field Day and Career Exploration Day! Students attended various stations learning about all types of agricultural pathways and careers! These students are Learning by Doing!

We want to give a big shout-out to our incredible IT professional, Mr. Webb. His expertise, patience, and problem-solving skills keep everything running smoothly here at Golden City Schools.

Whether it’s troubleshooting unexpected issues, keeping our systems secure, or ensuring that technology helps us do our best work, Mr. Webb is always there with a solution!

We are so grateful for all the hard work, dedication, and knowledge he brings to our school every day. Thank you, Mr. Webb, for all you do—you truly make a difference! 🙌💻

Golden City FFA Greenhand members attended the Area 9 Greenhand Motivational Conference in Joplin! Members developed their leadership skills and learned all about the FFA Organization! And it's not an FFA trip without a little manual labor! We stopped by Lowe's on our way home to pick up lumber for our livestock shelter!

Title 1 Tutoring begins next week!
K-6th grade tutoring will take place after school from 3:15pm-4:15pm, and students will need to be picked up at the back door like regular pick-up.
Other tutoring opportunities will be available with teachers individually on different days, and that information will be sent home!
Students must be signed up for tutoring through their teachers. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact us at the Elementary School office.

Last week, our talented yearbook staff had the incredible opportunity to spend a day at Pittsburg State University for a special Jostens Yearbook Workshop!

Our students got hands-on experience with design tips and tricks, collaborated with professionals and peers from other schools, and—most exciting of all—started designing the cover for our 2025-2026 yearbook! 🎨📖

It was an inspiring day full of creativity and teamwork! Huge thanks to Pitt State and Jostens for hosting such a valuable and fun learning experience. We can’t wait to see where this year’s theme takes us!

FFA SAE Spotlight! Lakin Baker is our SAE Spotlight of the week! Lakin's SAE consists of working at a local feed mill and raising his ducks! His roles at the feed mill vary and he has learned an abundance of information about animal nutrition and livestock husbandry! Lakin also serves as our Chapter Treasurer and is a vital part of the Golden City FFA Chapter!

Golden City FFA members started their Annual FFA Fruit & Meat Fundraiser this week! Be on the Lookout! This fundraiser provides FFA with funds for National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, IN, next month and funds many activities and meetings throughout the year!
