The remaining south route bus riders have left the school at 3:55.

The students who ride the south route but live in town are leaving school at 3:41.

Good afternoon! The north route bus riders have left the school at 3:30 pm. The south route bus riders are still at school. We are waiting for the storm south of Golden City to pass.

The Spring Music Concert will be on Tuesday 5/7 at 6:30. 6th grade band will begin the show. See you there!

Please welcome Dr. Kristina Loveland, principal and Mr. Mark Stefan, assistant principal to Golden City for the 2024-2025 school year. Dr. Loveland will be coming to us from the Walnut Grove School District and Mr. Stefan from the Carthage School District.

Please welcome Mr. Dennis Kimzey as the new superintendent for 2024-2025 school year. Mr. Kimzey is currently the high school principal at Miller High School. He is looking forward to joining the Golden City School District and community.

Congratulations to Mrs. Mandi Seela for being recognized as the Teacher of the Year at the Southwest Center Celebration of Schools.

Staff and students have been released back to their classrooms. After checking the radar as to where it will be during bus routes, we have decided we will proceed with dismissal as usual. Please contact the school with any questions.

All staff and students have been in the basement since about 1:50. We will continue to stay until Barton County is in the clear from the current tornado warning. We will post once we release or have updates.

Congratulations to Angela Mooney for being recognized at the Barton County Chamber of Commerce Awards as the Educator of the Year from Golden City.

*** PARENTS OF 6-11 STUDENTS *** We are partnering with About Our Kids (AOK) in bringing to Golden City an educational set of presentations that cover the impacts and effects of vaping. These presentations will take place 5/8-5/10. Opt out forms were handed out to all 6-11 students yesterday. Please contact the high school office at 537-8311 with any questions.
