School Board Vacancy
The Golden City R-III School District has an opening on the Board of Education. This position will run through the Spring 2027 election. Interested residents should make their desire known by sending a letter to Mrs. Jamie Coble, the Secretary of the Board, stating their qualifications and reason for wishing to be on the Board. The letter may be sent to Golden City R-III Schools, 1208 Walnut St., Golden City, MO 64748. Letters of interest will be accepted for a period of two weeks and should be sent to the Board Office by August 24th, 2026.

QUALIFICATIONS: Members of the Board of Education shall be citizens of the United States and resident taxpayers of the Golden City R-III School District. They shall also have resided in the district for one year preceding their election. Members shall be at least twenty-four years of age. All board members should have knowledge of and an interest in the welfare and educational opportunities of students.

The Golden City Lady Eagles approach the 2026 volleyball season with optimism, determination and a stronger base of varsity experience. After finishing the previous season 2-25-2, the Eagles return five starters who gained valuable time on the court and are eager to build from it. That experience matters for a program focused on taking the next step, because returning players can carry forward the lessons learned from difficult matches and use them to create greater confidence this fall.

The funding will support new band equipment and uniforms, providing resources for Golden City’s growing band program while supporting student participation, music education and school pride.

If your child needs special assistance, please notify the school and a sticker stripe will be added to your car window placard.

Parent pickup does not begin until buses leave.

Parents, please stay in your vehicles unless
buckling/unbuckling a car seat.

Please have your place cards visible in your car’s front window for quicker dismissal.
