Missouri Senate Bill 68 bans cell phones in K-12 schools. The bill was signed into law by Governor Mike Kehoe on July 9, 2025. This law mandates that all public school districts and charter schools implement a written policy banning the use or display of cellphones and other personal electronic devices throughout the school day. This includes during class time, mealtimes, breaks, and study halls. Cell Phones may be used in cases of emergencies or for students with documented needs related to disabilities or medical conditions.
Golden City Schools Phone Policy
Phones are to be turned off, placed in lockers or backpacks between the hours of 7:45AM-3:15PM
Using, displaying or turning on pagers, cell phones, personal digital assistants, personal laptops or any other personal electronic devices during the regular school day, including class change time, mealtimes or instructional class time, unless the use is part of the instructional program, required by a district-sponsored class or activity, or otherwise permitted by the building principal.

Golden City FFA concluded their Annual Summer Reward Trip/Ag Industry Tour today! This year the destination was Gulf Shores, AL.
Here is a recap of the daily events!
Day 1: Travel Day, Memphis Bass Pro Pyramid, Gus’ famous fried chicken! Drove to Mobile for the night.
Day 2: Jam Packed Day!
Students started the day off at the USS Alabama Memorial Park and were able to tour the ship, submarine, and aviation hangar! Lunch at Lambert’s in Foley, AL.
Next, they had the opportunity to tour an Oyster Farm on the bay at Fort Morgan before heading back to Orange beach for their Dolphin Cruise in the Gulf of America.
Finally, they ended the day at the beach swimming and enjoying the beautiful beach, at sunset the students were able to night fish with a local fisherman, sadly it was unsuccessful, they were hoping for a shark!
Day 3: Another big travel day, headed back north closer to home!
They drove to Vicksburg National Military Park and were able to see the Missouri Memorial and the USS Cairo!
Next stop was Duck Commander in West Monroe, LA! Students went through the museum and were able to see into the history of their family and rise to fame.
Day 4: They started the morning in DeWitt, AR. Before heading out to start some industry tours!
Our first stop was the Five Oaks Duck Lodge & Ag Research Center! Absolute Blast! So educational and amazing staff that gave a great tour and the students were fully immersed in the experience!
Next, they hopped up to Isbell Family farms to tour a rice farm growing specialty rice and developing farming techniques that changed the ways of rice farming in the region!
They are now headed home to Golden City! Be sure to ask the students about their experience if you see them around town! Check out the pictures below to see some of their experiences!
The additional pictures will be posted on another post.
